since when did your sister work there? mmm get me some raspberry tarts and creme BROOLAY. diet update: since the start of my "diet" i have eaten cheesecake, chocolate chip cookie, ice cream, goldfish crackers .. not goldfish har, candy, aaand egg rolls. yeahhhhhh... um. orange county is a GOOD movie. tonight i watched it with drew and we both thought that it was very very funny. i personally enjoyed "i'll eat your face" "ross.... no" and jack black's fat hairy stomach. that movie really makes me want to be a writer. i wish i knew exactly what i wanted to do with my life like other people. then i wouldn't waste so much time. that would be cool to be a writer or an artist. i dont know. i get bored very easily and i don't handle stress well. all i know is i don't want to spend my life being stressed out. when you're stressed out, you can't really live... no matter how hard you try. anyway, you shouldn't have to try to live. it should just happen. deeep mon. i have the urge to do some crunches. i have also been having random urges to play the flute. i wake up at 6am and start playing and my family thinks i am insane and they are very right. i want to own extraordinary desserts and serve people pieces of gourmet cake with flower petals and beautiful raspberry sauce. one entire wall of the little cafe will be a scrapbook of all of the things i will have collected during my travels through europe. and im going to write a novel. and im going to make a huge rubber band ball.
i have really lost all motivation with regard to school. today i didnt do any homework at all and i just realized that tomorrow i work the entire day so i should get some done tonight... aand so i got my math out but then i realized i dont know which free responses we're supposed to do. so then i went to work on spanish and i printed out the worksheet but then i started reading the 5 the mayo stuff and it was soooo long. and there is NO way im doing english multiple choice or essay right now. so basically... that's it. i can't do anything. but i NEED to do: study for 2 gov quizzes to make up, 1 yrbook flyer, spanish 5 de mayo homework, spanish "future" presentation, 12 math free response problems, english multiple choice, english essay ---> ALL before monday! and i work 12-5! harrrrr.
wow i haven't been to work in SO long. i don't even feel like i belong there. i am scared to return. it will be all good bc i will see clare and george and i know that im allowed to talk because i asked. they cant tell me to stop talking anymore!!!!!!!!
goodnight.

I love the fact that my sister works at Champange Bakery. It makes me really happy because I get a bunch of free food. Not only free food...but like, nice baked goods/desserts... it's almost too good to be true. And I think it's really funny that I'm posting about this right after sonya's resolution.
Debuts are kinda boring if you're not in the court. Okay scratch that...Debuts are boring if you're not in the court. But much to my surprise, I got to spend some time with Nate :) and girls from guard which is always nice because I really am going to miss them.
Today we went to Black Mountain to do recruiting and it was the LAST time I'd ever do the show. It was sad, but kinda fun because we screwed around so much in it...one last hurrah, type of deal. It was great but I stole my flag because I want to keep it for memories or something. My left hand is broken because I'm trying to learn how to spin weapon...unsuccessfully, I might add.
Still unemployed but desperately needing money.

my mom is baking cheesecake from scratch right now. today was sort of a strange day... i went to school at 10 and left at 12:20. i wanted to be spontaneous so i called up sherry and asked her if she was interested in going to the beach. we were driving to tp when i spontaneously suggested lj instead so i fearlessly got on an unknown freeway. we stayed there a bit and i was very happy. it was empty and the ocean looked the way i had pictured it when i was beachsick in florida. i wish i had my board but its not the week. we got home through miramar which took freakin 40 minutes. later in the day, barb and i spontaneously went to jamba juice where i tried out some new strawberry flavor and decided that i should always just get razzmataz. i talked on the phone with karen forever and sat around and blew my nose ..and basically wasted time... so i've basically given up on studying for any finals. i'm going to go into the blindly and fail and my grades will probably drop but it doesn't really matter. studying for finals never works.
the next month will be a blur. prom.. AP tests...this LA ballet... ucla reception...memorial day weekend and hopefully ucla visit... senior activities... graduation... work and surfing and maybe tumbling and flute and all of the regular things.. and then i will be free for 3 months and then a whole new life begins.
mmmm cheesecake.

[i wrote this yesterday]
good day, i am back from florida and i am so happy for this. the trip was a lot of fun but i am so grateful that im home and that my home is san diego, which is beautiful with wonderful weather. i am also very very sick and dying, so i'm using my last bit of strength to write this post. i haven't even talked to anyone since getting back but i dont feel like explaining my trip on the phone because right now i have that strange writing urge, so i think i will just go with it.
minus this whole sick thing, nationals was so much fun. it was definitely a good end to my deca career... wow how sad. it really is sad. but before i get all emotional or anything, i think i'll just write about what i did so it can be stored forever somewhere on the internet.
thur: we left at 2, waited at sd airport for a while, flew to lax on a tiny plane that i thought was going to fall any second, stayed at lax for a long time where i got sick after eating chili's, and finally at 11pm took a red eye flight to orlando which was easily the worst flight of my life. i kept falling asleep for what seemed to be hours but was actually 5-minute intervals.
fri: we got to our hotel (after an hour long bus ride) at about 10am but we couldn't check in until 3-ish so we bummed around in the hotel lobby. the hotel was called the rosen centre and was very big and nice. we explored it a bit but mostly we slept and i drooled on my hand. i bummed around more and we went and checked out F.A.O. Shwarz and ate at Hooters, which was probably the worst meal of the trip. they gave me my salad when everyone was already finished eating and then i had to pick all of the egg out of it. we slept and then at night we went back to that shopping area to eat at Lu-Lu's for Alonta's birthday. the whole chapter was there and it was very nice. by that time barb and i were very sick of food but we ordered lemon chicken with fetuccini, which was good. then it poured and so we ran and got a shuttle and went back to the hotel.
saturday: in the morning there was a california meeting and they tried to get us to say "C A L I what" or some kind of dumb cheer and that was lame but the cali shirts were cool. i love free shirts. that was basically all we had to do that day so then we went to universal studio's islands of adventure, which is a very cool theme park. we went on dueling dragons, the hulk, spiderman, etc. and i thought the rides were wonderful. when i went on the hulk i was so happy that i thought that if i died after, it would be okay. that sounds dumb but the hulk was really cool. we got back around 6 and i had to go early to the convention center for my scholarship reception. i met this guy in the elevator that was going to the same place so i talked incessantly as we walked the mile-long convention center. i always overload awkward silences with meaningless blabbering.
we got there and it was awkward for a few minutes but then i started talking to a nice girl from wyoming who wil go to berkeley and a nice girl from florida who will go to george washington. then there was this sorta creepy oklahoma or missouri or mississippi or kansas (they're all the same to me) guy next to me and he kept calling me "hun" and i didn't like it. the people were nice and it was interesting hearing about their high schools. i went on stage during the opening ceremony and got my medallion thing and it was all yay. i think we might have eaten pizza that night.
sunday: we woke up late and registered our written project (after a completely unnecessary trip to KINKO's bc mr. john campeo told us we needed two copies which was a big fat lie). so we walked the mile down the convention center and gave our project and then came back and barb and sarah and i decided to go to Universal City Walk which is a place with a movietheater /stores/ restaurants, right outside of universal studios. sunday was the best day of the entire trip. it was so much fun!!!! we got there and went to emeril's restaurant, which was fancy and beautiful. we ate free bread and ordered the best gourmet southwest chicken pizzas. they were the kind that make you cry because they taste so good. the waiters were cool and one said "what if the hokey pokey is really what it's all about?" and they made fun of us because we were being weird. after that we went and saw REAL CANCUN, which i am almost embarassed of admitting. don't see it. we laughed through the whole thing tho.. and THEN the real adventure began because i said that i really wanted to go to islands of adventure again but of course we couldnt bc tix were $50 a piece. so then we went to the entrance/exit area and barb had the brilliant idea of pretending that we just left the park and forgot to get our ultraviolet return stamps. i wanted it bad so i walked up the hand-stamper confidently and said 'excuse me. we just passed through the gates and forgot to get our hands stamped. can we still get it?' . he trusted my honest face and stamped our hands and we got innnnnnnnnnnn!!! and the rides had no wait time (a big difference from the 70-90 min the day before). and we went on jurassic park and the others a second time and when i went on the hulk i was so happy i thought my heart was going to burst. then we got home and the guys PUNK'D us bad but that's a story i might get into later. then we beat Jeff up pretty bad and took his hat and the day ended.
monday: we weren't scheduled to compete until 4-ish so we just slept in and sat around. then we went and competed and we did well, but we didn't think we'd get anything because the competition is crazy.we had a chapter dinner at a hotel buffel and then we went to the dance. i have never EVER in my ENTIRE life seen SUCH a high concetration of attractive males. it was like one in four.. it was unbelievable. and i'm not just talking about the dance... at the conference in general. in the lobby, by the pool, at the convention center, at the opening ceremonies.. SO MANY that me and barb thought that we would die of love. so at the dance zo, barb, alonta, and i got some of them including NEVADA (or las vegas, whichever you prefer), who was so adorable when he said "i can't do this. i can't dance" only he so could and he did. oh that was such a beautiful moment and one of the highlights of the conference. barb and i left early bc we didnt want it to get lame (it was starting to and the first part had been REALLY fun). we went back to the hotel and went swimming where we saw FLOOR 8 who is SO HOT because when he was leaving the elevator he said 'thank you'. he swam laps all by himself. how freakin cute.
tuesday: the awards ceremony started at 730 and seemed to drag on forever so barb and i let the chapter go and waited alone for our category. and then... by some miracle.. we were called up as top 16. I DONT KNOW HOW. NAILS BY LEE... the project that is a lie.. made it to top 16 in the nation (or world, if u prefer, since it IS an international conference). there were SO many hot guys it was just rediculous so we stopped pointing them out. we celebrated at a lunch buffet in the hotel w/ sarah (who proved herself to be the nicest person who has ever lived). then we competed again but this time we felt we did horribly because we stumbled on the questions. we were confident in ourselves .. but we were competing against the BEST of the BEST (all competitors were top 3 in their state) and in the south and east, people take deca seriously. we wanted to go somewhere so we bought some I RIDE passes for $2 and tried to go to bargain world but we couldnt find it. we ended up going to some crappy candy store and then the MONSOON came. the whole time it was like 85 and super humid and then suddenly it started pouring hard and a taxi came to save us. later we went to the grand awards, where --i have no idea how--- barb and i placed top 10. it was so completely unexpected because we thought we had stumbled a bit. we went back to the hotel and packed.
wednesday: we left at 2am and flew to texas and then to LAX. by that time i was super sick and my nose was runny and stuffy and my head was going to explode... and it stilll is.. and i feel so horrible i just want to sleep forever. and now im home and there is so much to do.
i loved the trip but i love san diego more. i also got little surprise 10 days early, so i guess things are going well for me.

arg. oookay so today was our last show at cox arena ( it felt weird because i wanted people to hang signs off the parking lot for us...like we did to nsync). i woke up this morning and it was definately something to think about. You know, this was going to be the absolute last time I'd perform THIS show with these 17 other people. And it was going to be the end of my colorguard experience...forever. By the way, theres something about the word "forever" that just depressess the heck outta me. It is just so final, which is annoying.
But moving on, we had the show and all that and not that it was particularly bad it just wasn't good either. And I was so mad at myself. Going into the show, I felt somewhat unprepared because we really haven't had any hard core practices and I just felt...rusty? I dont know if thats the right word, but my sticking to it. So I was really worried about the show and I dont know...I guess without even really thinking about it...I played things really "safe"--and everything just went crappy. It was like, I was so scared to make a mistake that I ended up making a BUNCH of them. And really it didn't matter that we didnt win or that we didnt get a medal (although I really would have liked one)...what was so horrible was that I went out like that. It was a bad show and it was my last one. I can honestly say that I regret it...I really wish I could do it all over again.
