yeah i don't get the friends thing... sorry. hey! let's keep the start-of-summer celebrations to a minimum until the 18th of june, k?? jk.. you guys started early so you deserve this. but i'm so jealous because as you are finish i am taking my freakin MIDTERM. speaking of midterm... i have one in an hour so maybe i should study.
a sell out??? no. money all the way hahaha. how are you going to have a decent summer without money? gas is soo expensive. but actually i'd say the one with the more flexible working hours... you don't want to be stuck inside all summer. wait shell, does this mean you have options?? i want options. i want to work at barnes and noble =[
oookay midterm, i forgot again. oh i was a much better student in high school
i hope everyone has a lovely weekend =]

woohah, finished my last final this morning--heres to a weekend writing papers. I ran into nice boy CHris from my comm class as I was leaving the library. I told him about that I took the soc final early, and it was so funny/cute that he was so concerned about the final. you almost wanna tell him to get a life, but then no because hes not annoying hah.
when i came home i slept to prepare myself for a night of Friends. I drove to north county to visit sadaf @ work for like 15 mins--she was so grown up dressed in turk-wise. I left her @ like 7:30 and wondered at all the people still at the mall. Why werent they all rushing home to record friends? I didnt understand it. AND I really felt bad for all the people working, like sadaf. poor kids. Anyway, I did NOT cry as much as I thought I would, so yay me. AND if you dont get this whole friends thing, then too bad for you.
after monday the summer will be at my feet. excited, but this also means I have to get a job. My problem is deciding on what kind of job I should have--because I have SO many offers you know. My friend from zany brainy called me, not the one I was following the other day, and we got to talking about jobs and I dunno if I should go for the MONEY or for the EXPERIENCE. Does that make me sound like a sell out??

if i'm a veggie, pull the plug
donate any of my organs (if they're still good of course)
cremate me
take me and go to the sea (pacific, i prefer)
and take a ship until you can't see the shore
then hold me in your hand and
let the wind pick me up
and then dream about me so i can live still
and visit the ocean a lot (!)
that sounds soo peaceful (if it weren't so morbid)
i have yet to encounter a writer or poet who describes the ocean the way i feel it.
and i myself would never even try.
things are almost always better left unsaid.

mmm the outside of the advil tastes soo good. hooray for candy coated medicine! and i am now skilled enough to swallow pills DRY, just like michelle. i have come a long way from chewables.
my eng ta didnt have our graded papers for us today and that really upset me. not that im looking forward to getting another C, but... i need to know if i should take this class pass/fail or not. i think i will.
also... gotta start looking into prospective 2nd majors and minors. but first i should get into comm, huh? i kind of hope they don't let me in. because then i'll have to pick something else, something totally random. and i will feel good about it because i will know that i have no other choice and comm isn't a possibility. but if i do get into comm then i'll do comm and probably hate myself forever for choosing it.
maybe i'm approaching this whole college thing all wrong. maybe i should be pursuing a degree that is actually useful and uhh.. interesting. aside from the 'do what you enjoy' stuff, the fact is that i (i meaning my parents) am paying 80,000 $$$!!!$$$!!! for this ucla degree. THAT IS SO MUCH MONEY FOR ONE USELESS COMM DEGREE. oh my god. i'm starting to get nervous. and i didn't even get into the major yet. to get into it i still have to get As in ling and stats.
and i haven't taken my ling and stats midterms yet.
in fact, my stats midterm is tomorrow. maybe i should start studying for it before worrying about any of this.
bye goodnight

don't you ever get tired of being deep and trying to figure things/people out?
right now i feel like all of the construction noises- the constant drilling banging jackhammering clanging crashing it's all happening at the same time, this time between my ears. my head is going to explode and i'm immune to aspirin. i bet i could take fifty right now and nothing would happen. (but i won't try). so i hope my legs don't fail me as i make the walk from here to the farthest classroom in the farthest building (public policy). if i do.. please make sure that my organs are donated and i am cremated and sprinkled over the ocean.
i know, it's morbid. but this isn't the best timing for the way i feel right now, not that any timing is ever good. especially for being sick.
food doesn't even taste good anymore (!)

michelle that sentence is so pretty, someone really needs to say that to me.

it really sucks when you write a post and something happens to it. gah.
okay well, yesterday i was driving on black mtn. sorta by vons and i see this old vw bug in front of me. It reminds me of my old co-worker because she used to drive a baby blue one--and surprise, it has the same "I'm a rocker, I rock out" sticker on the back windshield. I wonder why shes in pq but it turns out shes going to the post office. I also wonder if she sees me in the rear view mirror and thinks i'm stalking her BUT IM NOT. thanks. she is also the girl that i thought hated me.
I took my soc final and thats all i have to say about that. i went to mira mesa and saw uh, people still going to MC that are along the lines of annoying. annoying but nice so whatever. and an EX STACY LOVER. I continued to Barnes and Noble and found my nice little cafe boy sitting at "my" table having lunch with a friend...I PROMISE I dont go there for him but I think I stay there longer than I need to because I like listening to his conversations. Very interesting.
OH I went to Mesa and got lost... it was horrible AND it was freakishly hot. I hate when you're lost and you miss your exit so you try to take all these side streets to turn around but theres this car who just keeps following you through all these tiny alleys so you just keep going and going. I had to repark my car like 3 times. And the people there were nice, but I dont know--they might have just been tired or something. ITS NOT MY FAULT I DONT KNOW WHERE THE HELL I AM thank you very much, so dont be short with me. plus, im not an idiot, i promise i can use big words. There was a gay man that helped me and when I was talking to him I totally thought that he fit the mold of the gay guard man. I was inwardly laughing.
Watched a dateline "friends" farewell thing and man, thursdays will just be a waste after tomorrow. silent and humorless. its a sad thing, although I SWEAR my last post I said I wasnt going to be attached to fictional characters. whatever this doesnt count.
$40 back for 5 books, I really hate that. I didnt even READ half of them so I think I should get a refund or something. I swear colleges think they're doing us a "favor" by buying back books. BITE ME hammm.

oh shell, thats because they really are so much better than real people =D real people dissapoint. well im sure you'll want to see the movie 10 more times so ill see it with you when i come down next time (dont know when that is).
so i was taking a shower and i realized that i have had a pretty good college experience this year... i really have, i just didnt document it all. its so easy for me to forget about the really cool people around me (on my floor, at gymnastics). not that i FORGET them... but i just.. get used to them and forget that i didn't know them before. they're nice. and college is good. it's really good... i should start appreciating things more. i am a bad horrible person (we all already know that).
cynthia and i spent exactly 3 and one half hours at the gym today.. my roommates are the BEST!!!
and frozen strawberries... mmmmm
other than that:
OMG i need to start studying/working aaand
you really need to stop because i'm going crazy

okay my verdict on troy...I wont spoil I promise, but if you dont know the story then its your own fault
Brad Pitt: wowww. Hes so good at being angry. And I didnt know whether or not I liked him until the end. I think he brings depth to the "agressive killer man", he has feelings too! I think they did a good job at showing what drives his character, why hes the way that he is--I liked the balance between violence and emotion. Some of my favorite scenes are with him. and man, can he kick ass in this movie! and please please let my husband look that good nekkid when hes 40.
Eric Bana: probably my favorite guy. Ah, i absolutely love him as hector. He is the all around good guy stuck in a really shitty situation. Honor, loyalty, love...oh lover, theres no way for him to win, but what a way to go, eh?
Peter O'Toole: one of my favorite scenes is between him and brad pitt. He plays King Priam as a very compassionate old man and that does his best to be a good king. I think maybe all hector wants to be is like his father. he too, is put in a really really shitty situation and I think he might be a little bit too understanding of Paris, you'd think he'd be a little more angry or something. But all is forgotten because you watch him lose everything.
Saffron Burrows: not a big part for her, but in the way she is in the movie is very powerful. she did a lot with a small part, good for her.
Diane Kruger: okay okay, I didnt want to like her but she did helen justice. She was very effected by everything and carried around a lot of guilt--as she should, damn it. Although she is very, very tolerant of Paris but I guess thats just loyalty. Or stupidity because shes blinded by love. or lust. or whatever. Still, small part, mostly looks but you gotta give her credit for courage or something.
Sean Bean: ohh shon bon, seaan bean. at least he doesnt get killed off and sent off a waterfall. I really wanted to yell "Boromir!!!!" hah. anyway, i think he shows the complexity of his character well. hes wise but not preachy and is convincing as a king of greece. I liked his relationship with brad, but i think there could have just been more development with his character.
Rose Byrne: she was great and i think this was a good movie to introduce her to a bigger audience. she showed good range, good for her!
And finally, my dear Orlando Bloom: in the beginning, hes sexy as hell. Oh to be seduced by him. but when he, as orlando says, "gets his ass handed to him" I was just hitting myself in the head. he plays Paris very well. At first hes the playboy and is very convincing, then hes the young prince who is just beginning to comprehend the massive shit hole hes just dug for himself. He's naive, selfish and extremely pathetic. He tries to have honor and to do the right thing, and he does carry around the guilt--i think its what drives him to try and be the prince that troy needs at the end. I think he really wants to be as good a man as his brother was. For a while he becomes a joke, and I think thats sorta the point. Well done orli. Although, I really couldnt see how he could go from the HELLA kick ass Legolas, to this awkward Paris. Tsk tsk. He does have a turn with a bow and arrow--see Legolas Lives!!!
Loved the bond between brothers. I love tragedy and irony and when the good guys dont win because there aren't good guys and bad guys. Hopeless events lead to more hopeless events where the line between good and evil doesnt exist...all leading to one hopeless ending. I saw tons of parallels to LotR--helms deep anyone? And I wondered if Orlando/Shon Bon thought about the parallels while shooting. Theyre very obvious.
Anyway, the sheer magnitude of Troy is amazing. I liked that you couldnt tell all the cgi that went into the movie. Battle scenes are violent, gory and all around fantastic. Besides hot men in tiny skirts, there was a lot I liked in this movie :)
Oh, one thing I forgot to mention. The movie SORTA follows the Iliad. But I think they simplified everything for the sake of clarification. Like, Paris doesnt steal Helen as much as she follows him, but you get the point right?
You know what though? I think I get waaaay to emotionally involved with fictional characters. I gotta stop it because I swear I like them so much more then the people I meet in everyday life.

put on my FAVORITE shorts to find that the orange stain hadn't washed off but rather, had spread and made itself completely permanent. DAMMIT.
dude: 100 degrees today. i'm already looking forward to running back to my room at 2- fixing my paper- and running back by 330 to turn it in.
100 degrees. excuse me god, can you please stop?
haahha soo much negativity for so early in the morning. once i turn my 2nd paper in it will be alllllll good because i can come back, take a shower, go to tae bo, take a shower rest, and eat and take a shower. oh and then do my work for tomorrow. but yeah- just need to get through my 3 hour seminar, which actually always goes by very quickly. hopefully today won't be an exception.
what a great day to be a girl

"You have to really go into something before you can understand it. I seemed to remember, though not too clearly, that from ancient times on people have often been eaten, and so I started leafing through a history book to look it up. There were no dates in this history, but scrawled this way and that across every page were the words BENEVOLENCE, RIGHTEOUSNESS, and MORALITY. Since I couldn't get to sleep anyway, I read that history very carefully for most of the night and fianlly I began to make out what was written between the lines; the whole volume was filled with a single phrase: EAT PEOPLE!"
^^I loved that paragraph :)
