got a few minutes before work starts... i'm sitting in the library, typing away. MAN it is POURING outside. my hands were freezing and now that i've walked inside they feel like they're on fire. this isn't exactly the best driving/beach-ing/hanging-out weather for the Rosarito Mentorship retreat I'm going on today, but i'm sure we will make the best of it. How is it that I walked here under an umbrella but my shoes, pants, and jacket are still all soaked? It really seems that in our technologically advanced world we should have something cooler than an umbrella to protect us (like an invisible body shield, or something). yeahh umm.. i have to work now. have a good weekend!
I still get Scott Greenberg newsletters even though I've tried to unsubscribe for the past um 4 years?

Finished bridget jones diary last night. doesn't everyone picture the characters they're reading about in the minds? yes well, the problem with mark darcy being based off mr. darcy is that everytime he's being described in a scene I can picture it all so perfectly--the sound of his voice when hes speaking, laughing, what hes wearing, how he stands aloof, etc. It was like a whole new little movie in my head. Oh, and I thought this was particularly funny:

Jude just called and we spent twenty minutes growling, "Fawaw that Mr. Darcy." I love the way he talks, sort of as if he can't be bothered...Then we had a long discussion about the comparative merits of Mr. Darcy and Mark Darcy, both agreeing that Mr. Darcy was more attractive because he was ruder but that being imaginary was a disadvantage that cound not be overlooked.

Just got back from the dentist and the most painful 15 minutes of my life. I've never seen so much blood--I felt like I was going to die in that chair. AND it was only a cleaning!!! haha.

I love phantom. I want a freaking masquerade!! Actually, I really would like to live in the 19th century...but with plumbing. I think I was born in the wrong century and continent. Oh Raoul, lover! Sadaf and I are going to plan some sort of masquerade--complete with sparkly gold fans and lovers who sing and dance and ride horses and have accents and fight with words and swords because they lover us:)

No more talk of darkness
Forget these wide-eyed fears
I'm here,
Nothing can harm you
My words will warm and calm you
Let me be your freedom,
Let daylight dry your tears
I'm here,
With you, beside you, to guard you and to guide you

right now i'm feeling very sad about leaving. san diego = comfort. my house, complete with family, shower, fridge, people who don't judge me. i can act however i want. and my friends... i'll miss them so much. i feel so happy that time hasn't messed up my friendships. it says a lot about how cool my friends are :*). tear. i sound freaking dumb but ah! i have so much fun with everyone here. i guess i also just got thrown off when i went back to work at UC (library) this week... seeing the people i spent the entire summer with... and everyone is the same there and it is quite comfortable. but yeah, barb is right- our lives here are on pause. nothing is really moving-- my classes, current job, etc are all in LA. i guess my future is .... shudder... in LA.

so really its a mix of things... love my friends, don't want to leave salo, freaking love torrey pines (said goodbye to it today with- how appropriate- a sunset), got all messed up going back to work and seeing certain people, perhaps feeling a little nervous about classes and being social.

gotta fight those anti social tendencies tho!. . i have big hopes of conquering them this summer. big dreams for the summer, too.. just need to stay confident so i can show them that they need me. bc they soo do. oh! & i'm going to be a bridesmaid at my cousins wedding. this means i need to lose 20 lbs by august. i'm looking forward to it :-)

wednesday (tomorrow) morning: back to UCLA
thursday: first day off Winter Quarter!
friday: leave for Rosarito (?) for Mentorship retreat
sat-sun: Mentorship retreat
mon: first real week of classes + work start

okay bye again san diego. feel like i say bye ALL the time. but i'll be back soon anyway. and just to stay positive, it's good that i'm going back to LA. i'm excited for my classes (art history, anthropology, psych stats, french 2), i like exercising there, work isn't SO bad, there are fun things to do, i love campus, i get to meet with diana again (!!), people are nice, i can read and draw and get time to myself. there! yay! now i'm ready.

to sleep that is.

sadie& shell i'm sorry i didn't get to say bye to you in person but you know i'll be back soon! goodnight everyone
